Enhancing Emergency Response - Lisbon Fire Takes Delivery of New Ambulance

Last week marked a significant milestone for the Town of Lisbon as we proudly took delivery of a brand-new ambulance! This  was made possible through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, a federal initiative designed to facilitate recovery from the economic and health effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lisbon was fortunate to receive $951,622.78 in ARPA funds, allocating $250,000 of this to purchase the ambulance.

Currently our dedicated fire department staff is diligently working towards upfitting the vehicle to meet our needs. This will be used as a medical response unit.  Historically, our response to certain calls involved deploying fire apparatus, which, while effective, was not the most resource-efficient approach. There are times when demand exceeds our ambulance provider's capacity to respond to all calls simultaneously. In these critical moments, our new unit will allow us to fill the gap, ensuring that every emergency call in Lisbon receives a prompt and professional response.
