Volunteers Wanted: Public Safety Building Committee

Dear Town of Lisbon Residents, 

As we consider a significant enhancement to our community's public safety infrastructure, your input is crucial. Based on the findings from the recent study by Port City Architecture, we are exploring the possibility of constructing a new Public Safety Building that would merge our police and fire departments under one roof. This project is still in the conceptual phase, and we need your help to decide its future.  

Why Your Participation Matters: This initiative is not merely about constructing a new facility; it's about making informed, responsive decisions that meet the specific needs of the Town of Lisbon. The recent study we conducted exposed critical deficiencies in our current infrastructure. As a member of the Public Safety Building Advisory Committee, your involvement will be crucial in evaluating these issues and advocating for solutions. You will play a key role in gauging community interest and educating our residents about the potential impacts and benefits of the project, ensuring that any action we take is thoroughly aligned with the community's needs and expectations. 

Volunteer Role: Committee volunteers will be essential in: 

  • Evaluating the feasibility of the project based on community response and analysis. 
  • Leading informational sessions to discuss what this project could mean for our community. 
  • Gathering and reporting community feedback to influence the council's decision-making process. 

We're Looking For: Individuals passionate about community development and public safety, including but not limited to expertise in: 

  • Public safety and emergency management 
  • Architecture and construction 
  • Community education and outreach 
  • Local government and public policy 

Committee Responsibilities: 

  • Review and understand the Public Safety Building study and related documents. 
  • Organize and conduct public meetings to educate and gather feedback. 
  • Provide advisory support to the town council. 
  • Synthesize community opinions and provide structured feedback to the town council.
