Worumbo Waterfront project

The former Worumbo Mill site is positioned to become a true gem of Lisbon. In July of 2022, the Town Council voted to transition this stunning property into a community recreation site and event venue. Plans are currently underway to install safety lighting, a power panel and remove the concrete, replacing this with seeded grass.

This site is currently the home to the Maine Blues Festival and we expect a portion of the Moxie Festival will happen here in the future. We are currently seeking a partnership with a local nonprofit to manage the site , design and create improvements and attract promoters of events to hold those events here in Lisbon and attract visitors to our great town. As an economic driver, few sites in Lisbon will have the kind of impact that Worumbo will have.

Over 15,000 vehicles pass the site daily.  The Worumbo site is centrally located minutes from I-295 and Brunswick -Topsham to the east and I-95 and Lewiston-Auburn to the west, with Portland within a half hour drive.
